Final Year Engineering Internship (6 months) — Since February 2026
Supervising a 3rd-year engineering student (equiv. M2) on the topic: Integration of a deep reinforcement learning-based social robot navigation system into ROS Nav2 for transfer to a real robot, in the context of the SolarNAV project. Main tasks include integrating a learned policy into ROS 2/Nav2, adapting it to the target platform, validating in simulation, and evaluating on a real robot.
Course Descriptions
IAR – Artificial Intelligence for Robotics: Overview of core deep learning algorithms and their applications to robotics, with an introduction to AI research for autonomous systems. Prepared course materials, delivered lectures, and contributed to exam design.
SY40 – Operating System Architecture: Essential concepts of modern operating systems, multitasking, shared resources, inter-process communication and synchronization, with hands-on practice under Linux. Led tutorials and labs, and contributed to student evaluation.
RN40 – Fundamentals of Algorithms and Programming: Design of iterative and recursive algorithms, data structures, C implementation, and introduction to compilation. Led lab sessions and contributed to evaluation.
RO50 – Robotics Project and Embedded Systems: Integrative project combining simulators, perception, embedded computing, networking, and project management. Supervised student teams and evaluated deliverables.
RO52 – Robotic Algorithms and Real-Time Systems: Real-time systems, continuous/discrete modeling, classical control techniques, scheduling, synchronization, and distributed/IoT control. Led lab sessions and contributed to grading.
WE4B – Advanced Web Technologies: Design of advanced web applications using JavaScript and TypeScript, with frameworks such as Angular and React. Led tutorials and supported students in structuring their applications.
